Project conducted on behalf of Contractors

All below mentioned project's Quantity Surveying part was conducted by QS4U crew on behalf of contracting organizations. It is QS4U's privilege to been recommended by CIDA - CGF (Construction Guarantee Fund) for few contractor firms which were facing difficulties in claims and cost management in projects. Even in tender pricing QS4U has implemented & using its own strategies to price tenders with a competitive bid.

Title: Lotus Tower Project

Status: Ongoing

Commenced: 2023

Contract Amount: 69Mn

Project Nature: Design & build project and few design changes & change in scope made many changes to the contract. 

QS4U Involvement: After the contract is being awarded QS4U was assigned to the project and from initial contract amount QS4U is involving with the project in advanced manner.

Title: Tender pricing & procurement submission of 1 Billion project at Marine Drive

Status: Tender 

Completed: N/A

Contract Amount: 1,000Mn (1Bn)

Project Nature: A well reputed company, CMPL was invited to bid for this project. 

QS4U Involvement: QS4U was hired to price the tender and to prepare tender procurements. Since VAT & price escalations won't be paid in this project QS4U had to carry out an advance analysis for the bid. After the analysis done by QS4U, it was recommended to add 25% profit margin without price escalations & material prices was taken with VAT and forecasted amount for the price fluctuations.

Title: Tender pricing & procurement submission of UNOPS Tender

Status: Tender

Contract Amount: 600Mn

Project Nature: A well reputed company, CMPL decided to bid for this project. 

QS4U Involvement: QS4U was hired to price the tender and to prepare tender procurements. Since VAT & price escalations won't be paid in this project QS4U had to carry out an advance analysis for the bid. After the analysis done by QS4U, it was recommended to add 25% profit margin without price escalations & material prices was taken with VAT and forecasted amount for the price fluctuations.

Title: Tender estimation & procurement submission of design & build of Lab Complex at J'pura University

Status: Tender

Contract Amount: 600Mn

Project Nature: A well reputed company, CMPL joint venture with CECB design team bidded for this project. 

QS4U Involvement: QS4U was assigned to estimate the project and ensure the design is in order to win the bid while sticking in to the budget. After the analysis done by QS4U, it was recommended to stay with 600 million range and design team instructed to have pile foundation refers to the soil report and with pile foundation bid was around 650Mn. Even though its the second lowest bid, the lowest one was without piles and 617Mn, QS4U analysis was accurate and technical proposal evaluation report interpret procumentation prepared by QS4U also got highest marks at the evaluation.

Title: Landscape project at SLIIT, Malabe

Status: Completed (Defects liability period is going on)

Completed: 2023

Contract Amount: 30Mn (Lump Sum Project)

Project Nature: A well reputed landscape company, Blackstone Engineering CMPL joint venture with CECB design team bidded for this project. 

QS4U Involvement: QS4U was assigned to the project after the project commencement. With the situation of errors in the finalized BOQ with the options in the BOQ, QS4U had to manage Payment application (bill) preparation with more difficulties. With COVID situation project was temporary terminated and also with Inflation project contractual amount was agreed & increased after .  

Title: Tender pricing of Kurunegala Auditorium

Status: Tender 

Completed: N/A

Contract Amount: 407Mn

Project Nature: QS4U was hired by a well reputed construction company to price the tender. 

QS4U Involvement: Tender was priced by QS4U and 407Mn was the final total. After the analysis done by the QS4U it was recommended to reduce the profit and overhead at least from 15% to 14% in order to win the bid. But Top management didn't follow the recommendation and became the second lowest of this tender.

Title: Tender pricing of Church at Colombo 05

Status: Tender

Contract Amount: 103Mn

Project Nature: QS4U was appointed to price the tender by the top management of a well reputed 70yr old company.

QS4U Involvement: It was recommended the keep the tendered price wth the experience gathered by QS4U and the tender analysis carried out by QS4U. Tenderer became the lowest and tender wasn't awarded due to not qualified in technical evaluation. 

Title: Tender pricing & consulting of Gampaha Hospital

Status: Tender

Contract Amount: 150Mn

Project Nature: During the COVID pandemic situation tender was initiated and with the risks of completion of a construction project specially in a hospital complex the tender pricing was carried out by QS4U.

QS4U Involvement: As usual not only the tender pricing buy also analysis was carried out regarding the tender and its competitors with the purpose of submitting a competitive bid. After analysing all the risks to be faced by the contractor in a hospital complex with COVID disease, tender was priced and also it was awarded to the contractor. After commencement of the project QS4U was hired to consult the project QS.

Title: Tender pricing of Food City Vavuniya

Contract Amount: 187 Mn

Project Nature: QS4U was appointed to price the tender by a contractor.

QS4U Involvement: With the long distance and the many projects is being handled by the contractor it was advised to fix 25% profit and overhead to the price. Since it was clearly instructed QS4U recommendation to obey 10% P&OH was neglected. Tender result reflects the QS4U recommendations were accurate.

Title: Tender pricing of Bibila Hospital

Status: Tender

Contract Amount: 118Mn

Project Nature: QS4U was appointed to price the tender by a contractor.

QS4U Involvement: With the long distance and the many projects is being handled by the contractor it was advised to fix 30% profit and overhead to the price. Since it was clearly instructed QS4U recommendation to obey 25% P&OH was neglected. Tender result reflects the QS4U recommendations were accurate.

Title: Tender pricing of BOC Kandy

Status: Tender

Contract Amount: 350Mn

Project Nature: A well reputed contractor firm appointed QS4U to price the tender.

QS4U Involvement: With the risk to be obtained, long distance and the many projects is being handled by the contractor it was advised to fix 40% profit and overhead to the price. Since it was clearly instructed QS4U recommendation to obey 20% P&OH was neglected. Tender result reflects the QS4U recommendations were accurate.
